“Art became a catalyst to bring people in the community together and converse about the issue post earthquake. When we were creating art in the streets after the event, we could see the direct impact. People came up to us and talked about the earthquake, how it happened, and their experiences. We connected effortlessly having gone through such a common disaster together. We let the kids of Bungamati paint with us, they were so excited, distracted, enjoying the art, splashing colors and painting whatever they wanted on the wall. After the mega earthquakes in 2015, my works have become more humane, based on human experiences and human psychology, showing how they are associated with everybody else.”
